What we keep, and what we do not
riif tennis is run by Univault Technologies LLC, Salt Lake City, Utah. Questions or requests: [email protected].
When you talk to Haven
To answer you, what you said and the last few turns of the conversation are sent through our own answering service to the companies that host the AI models behind it. To suggest questions, the rules in force for you and the first name of anyone you said you are playing today are sent the same way. The answering service logs that a question was answered (its length, the time and what it cost) and keeps a short one-way fingerprint of the question so it can recognise a repeat. For some general questions it can also pass the question and the recent turns to a shared answer cache that keeps them, so a repeat is answered faster. None of this is linked to you or your account. Your conversation is kept with your account only if you switch on "keep my conversations" (below).
Your voice
Your speech is turned into text either by your browser's own speech recognition, which on some browsers sends the audio to the browser's maker under their own terms, or by a speech model at our hosting provider, which keeps nothing. We never store audio.
Your account
Signing in keeps your email address, your name if you give one, when your account was created and when you last signed in. Under 18, an account cannot exist until a parent or guardian's email is on file, and we keep that email too. We keep your session only in scrambled form, with a scrambled fingerprint of the device it is on, so you can be signed out everywhere. For security we log each sign-in attempt with a scrambled form of the email and of the network address it came from.
Your rules
When you are signed in, the rules you confirm are kept on your account in the words the card showed you, and, for a rule about something Haven said, the line she said. The "kept it" and "overrode it" taps are kept with their dates. A retired rule is hidden, not erased, so your past taps still make sense. You can download every rule, retired ones included, and every tap, from Talk to Haven. Signed out, rules stay only in your browser, and you can download them from the same page.
Your page on riif.com
If you pick a name, your rules can also be read at riif.com/@your-name. We keep the name you picked. Every page of rules starts private, seen only by you. You can share a page with people you choose, by email: we keep those addresses only while the page is shared with them, and we never email them. Someone you share with sees the rules on that page, never your kept and overrode counts and never your other pages. Under 18, every page stays private, and pages other people share are not shown. Pages cannot be made public yet.
Your conversations: only if you turn it on
Keeping your conversations is off unless you switch it on at Talk to Haven. When it is on, we keep, for each turn: what you said, what Haven or your coach answered, the questions shown beside it and whether you tapped one, whether it answered you, how long the answer took, and which of your rules were in force. We read them to find where Haven gets things wrong and to help you when you ask us for support.
We never keep audio. Kept conversations are deleted automatically after 90 days. You can download or delete all of them at any time. Turning keeping off stops it; what was already kept stays until you delete it or the 90 days pass.
Letting Haven learn from your conversations is a separate switch, off by default, and only possible while keeping is on. Nothing is trained on them yet; this page will say so before anything is. Under 18, keeping conversations is not offered.
When you ask for a coach
If you ask to join a coach's circle, we email your name and the contact details you gave to that coach, and a confirmation to you. If you ask for riif tennis at your club, your name, email and club are emailed to us so a person can follow up. We do not send your name to a coach you did not ask for.
Who else handles it
The site and its data run on Cloudflare. Emails are sent through our own mail service. The AI model providers receive the text of questions, as described above. We do not sell your information, and your tennis videos stay on your own device.
Deleting everything
Write to [email protected] from the address you sign in with and we will delete your account, your rules, your taps, your riif.com name, your page settings, the addresses you shared pages with, and any kept conversations. Security logs of sign-in attempts are kept in scrambled form and deleted automatically after a year.
